Approach
Since inception in 1999 my practice has evolved away from person centred counselling to an eclectic-pastoral stance. Eclectic refers to a class of therapists who do not attach themselves to any theoretical approach, but select such approaches as are appropriate for the client or task in question. The pastoral aspect therefore, represents the filter I use in choosing only the best and divinely inspired aspects of all the approaches available. Clients therefore trust me to make the right interventions when they know I only work therapies with a proven track record or pedigree.
In my study years I was exasperated at the way the Lord engineered my personal circumstances to block entry onto established Christian Counselling Courses. In retrospect I now view this move as extremely fortunate because I was made to learn the plethora of psychiatric and humanistic counselling models instead. This has enabled me to gain a far greater global appreciation of their weaknesses when applied to the fallen human condition. Regardless of protocol, I have developed this practice to mirror the meteoric success I myself experienced by not being afraid to allow the blending of psychology with pastoral restoration.
Clients facing tragic and impossible situations may already have experienced previously poor results in either clinical or alternative therapies. When people ask me, I maintain that it is 'only the once wounded and restored physician that can heal'. To this day I have not yet encountered a solely cognitive therapist who could operate with any true discernment in my fields of expertise.
Not all solutions of course can be reconciled in counselling therapy alone. In session, clients may also like to request access to my prophetic healing and deliverance ministry. Since the annointing was bestowed upon me in 1988 I have witnessed a great many healings. Some of the more miraculous have been physical signs and as such are well documented.
